What can you expect when you see a psychologist?

The prospect of seeing a psychologist may be daunting....this is a very normal experience that many people report. At Connected Self relationships are central....we will strive to make you feel relaxed, understood and the centre of the change process.

When you first see a psychologist, the initial session will be devoted to understanding your experiences, and it may also involve the completion of some short written questionnaires. During the session the psychologist will discuss with you a plan forward, identify your treatment goals and hopes, and support you to understand the treatment process.

The therapy process generally lasts from one to six sessions. However, more sessions may be required depending on the nature and severity of the presenting problem.
