Background

I have worked within both the public and private sectors in a variety of roles and capacities. Through this work I have come to strongly believe in the role of the systems (e.g. families and communities) around the individual in promoting health and well-being and in the value of working collaboratively with others to achieve positive outcomes. I value an approach which brings together a range of psychological techniques to respond to the needs of the individual and endeavour to work together with my clients to help them to achieve their goals. My interventions are evidence based and informed by a variety of theoretical approaches including cognitive behavioural, developmental, attachment, neuropsychological, narrative, systemic, and mindfulness based approaches.

I have extensive experience working with children and adolescents with complex needs including those who have experienced abuse, neglect and instability. This work has included working individually with young people and their caregivers as well as providing education, training, support, and supervision to the care teams around young people.

Currently I provide clinical psychological intervention to children, young people, adults, and families across multiple areas including but not limited to: stress, depression, anxiety, emotional behavioural problems in children and young people, trauma and abuse, relationship problems and grief and loss. I also provide assessment services to children and young people in the areas of intellectual, educational, psychological, emotional, and behavioural functioning.
